Pool Heating

Owning a pool is wonderful, especially on those hot days.  But it can also be a lot of work cleaning, heating, putting those covers on, and taking those covers back off again.

So, what can you do? You really enjoy your pool and you want to keep the dirt and debris out as much as possible because it takes so long to clean, but using a manual pool cover takes so long to put on and take off. The solution would be to install an automatic pool cover.  Automatic covers are quick, simple and easy to use, and help to keep your pool cleaner for longer.

What is an automatic pool cover?

An automatic pool cover is essentially the same as most manual pool covers.  However, rather than being rolled manually into place, you click a switch and the pool covers itself!

There are many different types of automatic pool covers, and modern covers are designed to fit just about any pool size or shape.  Automatic covers are usually operated by a simple switch, causing the pool cover to roll, slide or flip from one end of the pool to the other and lock itself into place.

An automatic pool cover works in the same way as a manual cover, but with far less labour, and they are usually much more of a safety precaution than the manual options.  Some covers lie at water level, and others at ground level, depending on the type of pool you own.

What are the benefits of an automatic pool cover?

A major benefit of automatic covers is the reduced work in cleaning your pool since the cover will keep out more dirt and leaves.  There is also the safety factor: If you have young children, you know how dangerous a pool can be, and keeping your children safe is of paramount importance.  Automatic pool safety covers are a great idea to seal off your pool and help avoid any accidents if children are playing near it.  Furthermore, there is the benefit of sealing in as much heat as possible and saving you money on heating the pool during colder seasons.

If safety is important to you – when deciding whether to opt for manual or automatic – you should consider if your current pool cover is safe enough to avoid a tragedy should someone accidentally fall in while the cover is on.  Of course, the draw-back may be the expense because automatic pool covers are not as affordable as manual covers.

Certainly, the reduction to your time spent cleaning the pool can only increase the amount of time you spend enjoying it instead.  In the long run, having an automatic pool cover will be safer and more cost-effective in terms of heating, cleaning and overall enjoyment of the pool.  So, in conclusion, an automatic pool cover is certainly a very good investment to make.
